For added growth and immunity in calves and young stock.
Trace minerals are essential nutrients for grazing animals. Recent research has shown that even marginal trace mineral deficiencies can depress growth and the immune system. Vital Ndama has been formulated to provide an excellent supply of essential minerals and trace elements, carefully balanced for calves and growing cattle up to 12 months of age.
The modern dairy calf requires minerals every day in order to grow into a productive milking cow in the future. A larger heifer can conceive her first calf at an earlier age, and produce more milk once she enters the herd. Good growth rates can only be achieved by providing the correct nutrition to the calf, including the correct formulation of minerals. Vital Ndama has been carefully formulated for calves and growing cattle up to 10-12 months of age, to supplement East African forages and typical calf and young stock diets. Vital Ndama contains no intentionally added iron and contains a mixture of three different copper sources in order to effectively combat copper deficiency, a common Kenyan problem.
The balance of minerals in Vital Ndama will provide everything the calf needs to maximise growth rates and become a productive cow in the future. The high quality ingredients, with good bio- availability, will help to optimise future milk yields and reproductive performance. Vital Ndama should be used at the following rates: Calves between 3 days and 6 months old 50g per head per day; Young stock (6- 12 months old): 75- 100g per head per day when a switch to Vital Joto is recommended
Nutrition is one of the most critical elements in farming today. Farmers using improved genetics require better nutrition to achieve the full genetic potential in milk yield or growth potential.
